In a recent episode of the GRTiQ Podcast, Meina Zhou shared some of the key influences and insights that have shaped her journey, providing a glimpse into her personal philosophy and life experiences.
When asked about the book or article that had the most impact on her life, Meina mentioned the “Analects of Confucius.” She recalled reciting the entire book during high school and highlighted its teachings on integrity and sincerity, which have formed the foundation of her social relationships and connections with people.
For movie recommendations, Meina’s favorite is “The Shawshank Redemption.” She admired the main character, Andy, and his efforts to help others. She resonated with the idea that it takes a great person to save another, and she strives to contribute positively to other people’s lives, just like Andy.
When it comes to music, Meina would choose the album “Cry” by Cigarettes After Sex. While the title might sound sad, she finds the music relaxing and enjoyable.
The best advice she ever received was to “be yourself.” Especially as a young entrepreneur and a woman, she emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself despite facing different opinions and judgments. She believes that showing one’s true self to the world helps others understand and connect with you.
One unique lesson Meina has learned is the importance of respect. She noted that being an entrepreneur often requires aggression to move things forward, but it is crucial to respect the decisions of the team, partners, investors, and loved ones. This respect helps build strong foundations and healthy relationships.
Meina’s favorite life hack is to keep conversations interesting by making up her occupation when meeting new people. It’s a fun way to break the monotony of talking about web3 all the time.
Based on her life experiences, Meina believes that managing expectations is key to finding happiness and balance. While it’s important to dream big, she emphasized the need to understand and accept the possibility of both success and failure. Managing expectations well can help sustain growth and maintain inner balance.
In the final segment, Meina completed three sentences:
