The GRTiQ 10: Raullen Chai (Ep. 173)

In a recent episode of the GRTiQ Podcast, Raullen Chai, co-founder and CEO of IoTeX, shared insights from his life and experiences during the GRTiQ 10 segment. Here are the highlights of his responses.

When asked about the book or article that had the most impact on his life, Raullen mentioned “The Hard Thing About Hard Things” as an eye-opener and also praised “Zero to One” for its valuable insights.

For a movie recommendation, Raullen chose “Kung Fu Panda,” highlighting the importance of optimism, a lesson he cherishes and one that resonates with his children’s love for the film.

If he could only listen to one music album for the rest of his life, Raullen would choose music by Mozart, appreciating the timeless quality of classical compositions.

The best advice Raullen ever received was from Steve Jobs: “Follow your heart.” This simple yet profound guidance has been a cornerstone of his decision-making process.

One unique insight Raullen shared is the realization that “we are so blind to our own blind spot,” emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and continuous learning.

Raullen’s best life hack is intermittent fasting combined with running marathons. This regimen has significantly contributed to his physical and mental well-being.

Based on his own experiences, Raullen believes that optimism and having a big heart are key characteristics that explain why people find success in life.

In the final three questions, Raullen completed the sentences as follows:

  1. The thing that most excites him about web3 is its constant innovation, operating 24/7.
  2. On X (formerly Twitter), he humbly suggested following Nick from GRTiQ, appreciating the thoughtful questions posed during the interview.
  3. He is happiest when DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks) becomes a real thing, making a tangible impact on improving the world.
